I've always wanted to live like a local in one of the countries that has good beaches, good weather, not so expensive, good people, good beer and of course, beautiful women. The country of my choice, PHILIPPINES! :)
I have lived like a local in the Philippines for almost 4 months. I was so amazed how the locals there are very accommodating. I lived in a small beautiful Island in Romblon, otherwise known as, "Carabao Island" and on some days, I lived in Boracay with a Filipino Family. During the months that I have been there, I have witnessed how the locals eat, live, survive. In these islands, you see beautiful beaches but life is not as easy as it looks for the locals. However, to sum it all, here are the things that I loved the most in the Philippines:
1) Weather - Like any other tropical countries, Philippine's weather is just the perfect weather for me. For a person who lives in a cold country most of his life, this is just the perfect weather.
2) Food and Beer - One of the things that amazed me in the Philippines is how their beer (REDHORSE) is just soo good. If there is anything that I would like to bring from the Philippines, that would be their beer. Another thing that I was amazed of, is their exotic food called, "BALUT". This is a steamed duck egg and eaten raw with vinegar and salt. I wish I could've taken a video the first time I ate that, but I wasn't able to. Surely, Balut is one of the most exotic food that I have tasted in my life.
3) Beaches - this is the place where you'll find the world's finest beaches with a very fine white sands. Just PERFECTO! Few of the beaches that wowed me are : Boracay, Palawan, Bantayan Island, Carabao Island. Boracay and Palawan are always on top of the list in the world for the best islands to visit.
But my personal favorite is Bantayan Island - a small beautiful island located in the North of Cebu that has just the perfect beach, great people and a little bit of tourist. Plus, they have the Coconut fruit that's to die for! Just exactly an island that I would want to live one day.
4.) Beautiful Women - Filipinas are known for it's undying beauty having a "morena" skin and a long beautiful black hair. Aside from being gorgeous, I love how they are friendly and how much of a woman they are - the way they speak and move.
5) Locals - One of my favorites in the Philippines is how the locals are so friendly and generous. They always say that Filipinos are known to be generous, I haven't really believed that till I personally experienced it. For instance, the family I have lived with, they don't have much but they offered me their home. They cook for me and they never made me feel that I have to pay them back in return. They treated me like I was family and that was the most priceless thing I have ever experienced in there.
Aside from all of that, I have also met really good friends a long the way, turned out - we kept in contact with some of them! :)
MABUHAY PHILIPPINES!
